Saying good-bye and trusting someone with your child is a big step. I remember my oldest child's first day of school: excitement, fear, anxiety, hope, eager anticipation were the mix of emotions I was experiencing. Some children and parents feel more anxiety than others with a change in routine or environment or experience. This is normal and it won't be long until your child will feel like school is their second home. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly is often the first step.
An article I like "Starting School with a Smile" has some great tips and ideas for how to help you and your child with this transition. If you have any tips, tricks or strategies that help your child with the transition to Kindergarten, please share so that we can learn from each other and grow together as a learning community.
